Moviescript.com consists of fellow writers, actors, producers, and directors.
Our staff will review your idea for potential commercial viability and development by our network of industry professionals. If we feel that we can develop your idea into a movie, we purchase the rights to your story idea for $3,000. When your story is from a verifiable true-life event that you have the authorization to sell, we will offer you $10,000. These fees are non-negotiable.
Offer Timeframe
When we make an offer to purchase your story or idea. Offers are valid for a period of 24 hours. If you do not accept the offer within this timeframe, we will rescind the offer and it is no longer applicable.
Screenplay Submissions
At the time of offer, we provide you with a possible second option if you have a completed screenplay to accompany your work. We will ask for submission of your completed screenplay for review.
Rules for Initial Submissions
Initial submissions must adhere to the 2-page requirement. Anything larger than 1 page will not be reviewed. There are no hidden charges or fees, so we will never request that you submit another fee for any reason, even when we offer agent representation.
We publishe a quarterly list of submissions and offers that we send to each person that submits material. You have the right to opt out of receiving these notifications.
All submitters must be at least 18 years old and acknowledge the disclosure page before submitting any material. All submissions receive a response within 30 days. Each submission is treated independently and we do not keep your submitted material past the review and offer process.
Your Rights
Only upon your acceptance of the offer to purchase your material does it become the property of MovieScript.com. You maintain your rights to shop your work or procure other offers during the review period.
